I retired from my counseling practice in 2019, and am seeing just a few ongoing clients at this time.
I love being retired. I volunteer at our local Food Depot (food bank) twice a week, and I am active politically, serving as chapter leader of American Promise New Mexico. American Promise is dedicated to restoring our democracy to a true representative government, by winning a constitutional amendment allowing Congress to once again reasonably regulate election fundraising and spending. Citizens United and other Supreme Court rulings unleashed unlimited big money onto our electoral process. We need to take back our democracy, so the issues Americans care about can be addressed effectively, instead of getting bogged down by rampant partisanship. I would be happy to talk with you about this work, as it is a long road, and will take all hands on deck to achieve.
Besides my volunteering, I enjoy gardening, swimming, and spending time with Frida, our one-year-old Australian Cattle Dog, and Katness, our seven-year-old kitty.
I enjoy the freedom to travel (now that we are beginning to emerge from the pandemic) and for the most part, do what I want when I want to. I am blessed to be in excellent health and have no complaints. Happy to be alive.
Eric and I still live in Santa Fe, and love it here. We no longer host our Casita through Airbnb, but rather rent it out to visiting nurses, and others who need furnished housing month by month.
